Joansy King
Joansy King is a Director and Chief Executive Officer of King Consulting Services Australia. She brings more than 30 years of experience in community leadership, settlement services, multicultural engagement, advocacy and program delivery.Throughout her career, Joansy has supported individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including migrants, refugees and people experiencing complex settlement challenges. Her experience includes senior case management, community program development, government consultation, stakeholder engagement, grant management and organisational governance.Joansy previously served on the Western Australian Government’s Ministerial Multicultural Advisory Council and has contributed to advisory groups involving multicultural affairs and community engagement with the WA Police. She is also a co-founder and long-serving leader of the Karen Welfare Association of Western Australia and the Australian Karen Social Service Network.She holds qualifications in economics, project management and interpreting, including specialist training in legal and mental health interpreting. Joansy speaks Karen, Burmese and English. Leslie Emma Akora
Lesley Emma Akora is a KCSA Coordinator and Director. She brings extensive experience in counselling, family dispute resolution, disability and community services, advocacy and organisational leadership.She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling, a Vocational Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution Practice, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science.Lesley is a highly skilled family counsellor and accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. She has supported individuals and families experiencing conflict, trauma, disability, mental health concerns, settlement challenges and social disadvantage. Her approach is compassionate, culturally responsive and focused on helping people reach safe and sustainable outcomes.She is also an author and public speaker. Her research has explored the ethical use of interpreters when counselling torture and trauma survivors who have resettled in Perth.Lesley was recognised as an inaugural member of the Western Australian Women’s Hall of Fame in 2011 and was the first female President of the African Community in Western Australia. She is a strong advocate for marginalised individuals, families and communities.At KCSA, Lesley contributes to service coordination, client support, staff guidance, governance and strategic decision-making. Board Member and Support at Home AdvisorDr Mya Daw Sein
Dr Mya Daw Sein is a KCSA Director and Clinical Advisor with an exceptional professional background spanning nursing, public health, aged care management, education, research and clinical governance.Dr Mya holds a PhD in Development Studies, a Master of Public Health, a Bachelor of Arts and professional qualifications in nursing, midwifery and dental nursing. Her multidisciplinary background allows her to consider each person’s clinical needs alongside their family, cultural, social and community circumstances.She has held numerous senior leadership positions, including 14 years as Director of Nursing at MYVISTA Aged Care. Her earlier appointments include Facility Manager, Director and Deputy Director of Nursing, aged-care training director, university lecturer and Head of Community Health Nursing.Her areas of expertise include clinical governance, aged-care accreditation, dementia care, infection prevention and control, workforce development, staff education, quality improvement, policy development and culturally responsive healthcare. She has successfully led aged-care facilities through multiple accreditation cycles and managed large multidisciplinary workforces.At KCSA, Dr Mya provides strategic and clinical advice to help ensure that services are safe, evidence-informed, culturally respectful and responsive to the needs of older people and their families.Our Mangement Team
Azulant “Mary” Akora
Azulant “Mary” Akora is KCSA’s Office Manager. After initially joining the organisation as an Office Administrator, Mary progressed into the Office Manager position through her practical knowledge, initiative, organisational ability and commitment to supporting KCSA’s clients and staff.Mary holds Certificates III and IV in Business Administration and brings experience in office coordination, reception, document preparation, records management, client enquiries, referral administration, fleet records, meeting support, website management and general business operations.Before joining KCSA, Mary worked with Ruah Community Services and Ruah Workright, where she supported staff and clients from diverse cultural, religious and ability backgrounds. She managed telephone enquiries, filing and archiving, office supplies, client reception areas, referral documentation and administrative support for large multidisciplinary teams.Mary is often involved in coordinating KCSA’s daily operations, client onboarding, staff administration, service documentation, communications, website development and improvement projects. She is known for her resourcefulness, attention to detail and ability to manage several priorities while maintaining a warm and respectful approach.Her experience as a designer and small-business owner has also strengthened her skills in project management, budgeting, inventory, communication, branding, social media and website development.Office Manager
Conroy Christopher Nathan
Conroy Christopher Nathan is KCSA’s Office Manager, supporting the coordination of day-to-day office operations, administration, documentation and practical business processes.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Curtin University and a Certificate IV in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft. His education has developed strong skills in research, planning, visual communication, problem-solving and completing projects with care and attention to detail.
Conroy also brings experience in invoicing, stock management, order preparation, warehousing and customer-focused work. His previous positions have required reliability, organisation, teamwork and the ability to complete tasks accurately within busy working environments. He has also undertaken artist-in-residence roles with Carey Baptist College and North Parmelia Primary School.
As Office Manager, Conroy assists with office organisation, records and document management, inventory, administrative projects and the coordination of routine operational tasks. He works with KCSA’s leadership and administration team to help maintain an organised, welcoming and efficient office environment.
Conroy brings a practical and creative perspective to his role and is committed to continuing to develop his administrative and leadership skills while supporting KCSA’s clients, staff and organisational growth.Office Manager
Client Liaison OfficerShining Htoo
Shining Htoo is KCSA’s Client Liaison Officer and helps clients and families communicate with the organisation, understand available services and remain connected throughout their support journey.Shining brings experience in health-service assistance, community work, education, volunteering and culturally responsive communication. She holds a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance and has previously worked as a carer, teacher and school canteen assistant.She has also contributed many years of volunteer service to the Karen Welfare Association of Western Australia and has supported Karen language and school programs. Her community involvement gives her a strong understanding of the experiences, strengths and challenges of migrant and refugee families.Shining speaks Karen, Burmese, English, Thai and Karenni. Her language skills and cultural knowledge help KCSA provide welcoming and accessible communication to people who may otherwise experience language or cultural barriers.She is approachable, reliable and committed to helping clients and families feel heard, respected and comfortable when engaging with KCSA.
